Over the past year, I have been attempting to observe my living self.
I found myself standing on a hill listening to the wind, noticed a
lightness in my voice, felt like I wanted to change, walked over
hot coals, observed myself stabbing my own palm, challenged
the difference between thinking and doing -
burning, kinetic, motionless, painful.
We Are The Fire is a New Moves commission, under the Athena Project. This performance work was commissioned for Into The New 2010 at The Arches Glasgow, under the mentorship of Richard Layzell.
