Over the past few years I have developed practices that place my work into both eductional and community based contexts.
I have worked within a diverse range of contexts from being a core tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on their Short Courses program, to working with TIPP (Theatre in Prisons and Probation services). I set up a mens group in Glasgow as well as an environmental clean up project in East Ayrshire. I have worked with many established artists and companies including Cardboard Citizens and more close to home Glas(s) performance.
One of the most importnant things for me as an artist working in both educational and community contexts is to approach both with an open heart and a sense of my politics; although never compromising them it is important to be sensitive to the openness and politics of others, and to be welcoming of difference.
